Over the past 45 years our respected company has led the way in the recycling of scrap metals, office furniture and architectural antiques. Cohen and Cohen Full-Line Office Interiors began a green movement long before it was recognized as a responsible way of living. Today we remain whole-heartedly committed to our environmental philosophy.
In 2009 Cohen and Cohen Full-Line Office Interiors was granted exclusivity to represent the Knoll line of interiors for Eastern Ontario and proudly opened the doors to our state-of-the-art 27,000 square foot facility. The green technology employed in the construction bears witness to our continued commitment to eco-solutions. We have also expanded our vision to include unique "green" lines of office interiors, and services to help you design and create an office environment that results in a stimulating, adaptable, productive and healthy environment for yourself and your employees.
One of the primary business philosophies of Cohens has been to recycle, our mandate is to reduce the waste that ends up in our landfills. All of our five Companies practiced and have achieved the highest levels of recycling within industry.
Our store not only retails new furniture, but promotes the use of used, eliminating the carbon footprint from the manufacturing new products in our environment. We also have a used furniture buyback program, that enables companies and individuals to help purchase new furniture, and also enables other companies to purchase there used furniture at a discounted prices, in many cases keeping it out of our landfills. When furniture has had its end of life, and cannot be resold we will dispose of it in the most environmentally friendly way, i.e. Separation of the steel from other materials for recycling. We have designed and promoted the use of used materials in four of our new buildings. The following are some of the initiatives that were instituted.
Great attention was taken to use recycle products, to demonstrate what can be done when the will is there to use recycled goods in new buildings. We hope that you will take the opportunity to visit our site and ask for a tour of our facilities.
The Cohen AIM facility is the state of the art facility recycling furious and non furious metals. The site is located to the south of the furniture store and is open daily to assist in all you recycling needs please call for a guided tour of this facility.
